Today, cancer care has evolved by leaps and bounds but we have not gotten rid of the negative cancer terminology like palliative care, terminal disease, or Stage IV. Why can't we treat cancer like any other chronic disease? A diabetes patient is never told he is a victim of diabetes, or he is being given palliative care.Dr. B. S. Ajaikumar
It was truly heartening to share my thoughts on this coveted stage with towering thought leader CEOs on a variety of pivotal issues - about the need to bring equality and parity in cancer care, the need for purposeful collaboration between the government and the private enterprises to serve the larger cause of healthcare, and the need to shun the use of negative terminology like palliative care and stage IV disease, as also twisted analogies like calling corruption a cancer of the society.
Thanks to a most delightful and proactively engaged audience. Loved every moment of the interaction!
